Okay, so I’m not a profesional rider, but I know the basics.
Keep you heels down in the stirrups.
Keep your back straight – don’t slouch.
Don’t pull too hard on the reins, as the reins are attached to the bit, and the bit is in horse’s mouth, and it hurts their mouth if you pull too hard.
Be firm but gentle.
Make sure you know what your horse is scared of.
Make sure that your horse isn’t too jumpy for you (if you’re inexperienced) and make sure it is isn’t too slow for you (if you’re experienced).
Bond with your horse. Be friends.
